'Seatrade Cruise Asia 2016' to be Held in Busan

The largest cruise exhibition in Asia will take place in Busan.


 


Busan Metropolitan City stated on the 3rd that “Seatrade Cruise Asia 2016” will be co-hosted by Busan Port Authority(BPA) and Korea Tourism Organization from 12 to 14 May at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal in Busan.

Major shipping lines and tour agencies from 27 countries including Cruise Line International Association(CLIA), Costa Cruise, Royal Caribbean and Holland America will participate in the exhibition. A total of 60 stands and 2,000 officials will attend the event from home and abroad.


 


During the event, various programs such as international conferences, exhibitions and workshops will enable experts to discuss changes in the cruise market in Asia and vitalize the cruise industry in Korea.


 


President Zinan Liu of China and North Asia Pacific Region Royal Caribbean International, President Buhdy BOK of Costa Group Asia, President Thatcher Brown of Dream Cruises, Vice President of Sales Asia Felix CHAN of Norwegian Cruise Line and CEO Harry BAEK of Lotte Tour Development Co., Ltd will deliver presentations.


 


Busan city and BPA plan to ink an MOU with domestic port authorities including Incheon and Jeju in order to attract the world’s largest cruise liner Oasis(220,000t) of Royal Caribbean.


 


At the exhibition hall, a variety of programs-exhibitions of model cruise vessels and shipping goods, promotion hall for port of calls, travel agency training workshops, cruise crew talk shows-will be provided to visitors and students majoring in related fields. Moreover, Busan tour and cultural products exhibitions will be held outside of the exhibition hall. On the last day, the exhibition hall will be open to the public and various events such as cruise ship on-board tickets and souveniors will be given to visitors as raffle prizes.
