KR has secured the authorization to survey the transport of  dangerous goods for U. S. export.  KR has been successfully designated as an Independent Inspection Agency (IIA) and Designated Approval Agency (DAA) by the U S Department of Transportation (US DOT).

With this authorization, KR is allowed to inspect and certify UN standard pressure equipments, Portable Tanks and Multiple Element Gas Containers (MEGC) on behalf of the U. S. Department of Transportation for the carriage of dangerous goods.

The carriage of dangerous goods within U. S. territory can only be approved and undertaken when the obligatorily survey and certification standards according to the U.S. Department of Transportation standards, have been met.

Once again, KR is the first and only Asian institution to hold both Independent Inspection Agencies (IIA) and Designated Approval Agencies (DAA) authorisation.

Most of the inspection agencies providing services for the U.S. Department of Transportation have only one of these two qualifications, there are only three institutes in the world that hold both, and one of them is KR.

KR is now able to provide inspection and certification services for the carriage of dangerous goods, under the authorisation of both the IIA and DAA. With these authorisations, KR expects to support and assist domestic manufacturers exporting to the U. S. market as well as those entering the Chinese market, where 30% of the market is occupied by international manufacturers who are affected by the U. S. carriage of dangerous goods regulations.

Dr. B. S. Park, Chairman and CEO of KR said “We are working hard to provide more inspection services for the carriage of dangerous goods, and are now striving to obtain the certification to act as an inspection agency for the UN for the carriage of dangerous good by road and rail, as well as Transport Canada (TC) and under the CE Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive (CE TPED).
