BPA announced that it held ‘The 1st Maritime Port Administration Council 2016’ to Enhance Competitiveness of Busan Port with Various Ideas and Solutions.
Busan Port Authority(BPA, President WOO Ye-jong) co-hosted the first Maritime Port Administration Council 2016 with Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries and Busan Metropolitan City on the 12th.
Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries discussed seven agendas including △ facility relocation for Haeundae Beach coastal improvement project, Busan City presented six agendas including △ Busan North Port Grand Master Plan, and BPA discussed seven agendas including △ cruise pier operation at the Maritime Port Administration Council, President WOO said “International Shipping and the port environment is deteriorating due to the long term recession of global and shipping economies.”
He added “We will work closely with MOF(Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries) and Busan City to strengthen the competitiveness by seeking various ideas and solutions.”
Maritime Port Administration Council was established in July 2009 in order to enhance the competitiveness of Busan Port and to overcome the hardships at the port triggered by the financial crisis in 2008.
The council is organized by Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, Busan Metropolitan City, and BPA.
