Samkang M&T won three chemical tankers newbuilding order

Samkang M&T, a listed company in Korea announced 11th Aug that it signed a newbuilding contract of three chemical tankers amounting to USD 50 Mil. with a Korean chemical shipping company, Woomin shipping. It is the first time to won a newbuilding order for Samkang M&T.


 


Meanwhile, the listed manufacturer has built mega-blocks and tera-blocks for ships and offshore plants. The first newbuilding order is expected to help Samkang M&T expand its business scope. The vessels are reportedly 6,600 dwt small chemical tankers.


 


A representative from Samkang M&T said, “This newbuilding signing means our skill and experience well recognized. We have built over 150 hundred tons of mega-blocks every year and 15,760 tons of tera-block which is the world’s largest single block.” And he said, “We will devote ourselves to the quality vessels built, giving thanks to the ship owner for believing in us.”


 


The vessels are scheduled to be built at Gosung shipyard and delivered on February, May and August, 2018 respectively. The agreed currency of the contract price is Korean won.
