KR held a Technical Expert Committee on 18th October at KR’s Headquarters in Busan.

Within the society, classification technology is categorized into six sectors which are: ship safety, hull, offshore structures, special purpose ships, electricity and metal.

At the seminar, representatives from each area took part in a review to examine whether KR’s current classification rules needed amending or whether new ones should be established.

This year’s meeting was organized by integrating the five expert committees of the ship safety, hull, machinery and electricity and metal sectors.

KR makes every effort to support its clients by ensuring that its technical rules meet accepted global standards, these are then reviewed by external specialists appointed by each expert committee.

The annual meeting encouraged a wide-ranging discussion and a cross-pollination of ideas and will help KR to continuously improve its provision of high quality classification services.
